Children...they really do suck the life out of you!

Waking up this morning, what to my wondering eye do I see.......ANOTHER fricking grey hair! That silver shining hair sticks out like a sore thumb. I have not added to the few stragglers that have popped up in the past year, so when I notice another one, I freak out! I am okay with aging, it is inevitable. I am not okay with the process that it takes to age. It is so slow, like a morphing mirror. I am afraid to look every morning.

I won't even go into the wrinkles....and don't tell me that they are just my laugh lines. I know that the wavy lines under my eyes are not from smiling, but from the stress and lack of sleep that my children have put me through!

I believe that from the time of conception and in utero....my children I have a connected bond like no other. They also had implanted me with a straw that they continue to suck the life out me with. Not that I don't love my children....I really do!! Sometimes, I see why I continue to age every single day....

Raising a (pre) teen is HARD work. They have no real purpose in life. They meander through out their day needing constant direction and purpose. I am that person to guide them and give them purpose. Ever see a teen try and get their stuff ready for school? That in it's self is a grey hair! Every see a teen crab because it is 10am on break and you ask them to get dressed? That is another grey hair! Ever have a teen look at you and tell you that you don't know anything? That is wrinkles all over it!

Raising a 6 year old is not peaches and creams either! Again their only purpose in life is to defy anything you ask or say. Challenge is their real middle name! Ever see a 6 year old restart a DS game over and over, just so you have to complete the 20 minute introduction so she can do the other fun stuff. (Mind you she already has a game started with the intro done already) That is a grey hair in the making! Have you ever tried to get a 6 year old dressed and ready to go in the morning? Laying out 2 choices of clothing and 40 minutes later, still can not decide. That is a grey hair!

Good thing my hubby and I met while we were young. I looked good! Hair was always perfect, cute little body and a flawless face. My children are sucking the life out of me slowly....I am morphing into a monster!

Jennifer I tell you, you couldn't say it better. My hair is ridiculously grey!

I was actually shocked that my six year old would already start the debating everything thing I say.

My 4 year old DIVA is a total hand full and then not to mention....

Capt. Caveman probably the cause of the remaining.

so true..so true...

Especially when they are home for 2 days b/c of MEA break. How quickly can Monday morning get here? It just confirms that I need a full-time job next summer or I will be crazy.

I had a grey hair pop up the other day and quickly pulled it out and put it against black paper to make sure that is what it really was. The wrinkles are past the point of worry on me. Ugh!!This is the hardest year of having children for me because now they can drive. Good luck with the preteen years. I agree my kids are sucking the life out of me too. 3 more years and they are off to college and I will miss the heck out of them. Teenage children, can't live with them and can't live without them. Great post!
