So I had it all planned out.....My 12 year old has read all of the Twilight series books (I have NOT!) and has seen the first movie! I heard that New Moon was coming out, so I decided that I would surprise her and take her after school! Apparently I am NOT cool enough to take her....she made plans with about 12-20 friends to meet up at the theater. sigh.......I was a little disappointed, I liked the first movie and was eager to see the next one! So daughter tells me I can come, but I am not sitting near them, at all! Panic sets in....I have ever gone to a movie alone! I ask hubby who has a quick reply of "Hell NO!" I take that as a definite answer. Then I get the text I was waiting for, a fellow Mom of one of the girls that was going asked me to go with her! She is a die hard Twilight fan and has read all the books! Cool...
Arriving at the theater I am swarmed by tween, teens and desperate housewives galore. They are every where...now I am feeling guilty, because I never read the books and I am here for pure romance and "eye candy!" Standing in line by myself, because my seat mate had not arrived yet, and the kids all ditched me, I see a group of women (40ish) all wearing Team Edward shirts, Team Jacob shirts and even Vampire bandanna's. They are all giddy with excitement. I am ready to exit the building....I am not that much of a fan! Phew....here comes Stephanie! I am saved! Getting our seats, I am surrounded by the sounds of giddy girls, women and a few boys! The lights dim and the show starts!
So I must say, for not reading a book and only seeing the first movie, I was excited! Who can resist a good love story and hunky boys! I wish I could say that my eye candy were men, but in reality they are just jail bait! Too young for my love! I would like to think I was a cougar and I could go for it, but most of the cast were born the year I graduated from high school! So I let my imagination go and I enjoyed the movie, and I can not wait for the next installment!
Getting in the car with a few of the girls that were are dropping off, I am asked to close my ears and not listen! Hum....what could they be talking about! The buff body of Jacob? The sexy chest of Edward? As I quietly listen in.....holy crap that is what they are talking about! Are they not to young to be thinking about that? Apparently not! Am I okay with this? Not really.....those character are my fantasy, not theirs! Now I have a hard time thinking of Jacob when I am with hubby! (side note: that is a joke!)
After dropping off the giddy girls, I tell my daughter that OMG (oh my God) in her terms, that I am so Team Jacob! She rolls her eyes and says "Mom, that is exactly why I did not want to sit by you!" "All you crazy Moms!" What I am being shunned by my cute 12 year old who still needs me to help pick out her clothes and brush her hair! Okay, so I get it. I never wanted my Mom to talk about how cute the boy Jake in Sixteen candles was, so neither would my daughter! So for now, I will silently keep my crush with Jacob and not share anymore with my dear daughter. After all, I don't want to ruin the fantasy for her!

Jake Ryan from 16 Candles was SOOOO our "Jacob" or "Edward" of the day!
I'm excited to see this movie next weekend!
TEAM JACOB ALL THE WAY!!! (Sorry Rob...I was a fan until I saw Jacob take off his shirt...breathtaking!) LOL!
So 3 moms and 7 tweens went to the movie. At first all the girlie's were oohing and ahhing at Jacob so after the 5th time of seeing his chest one other mom and I had to chime in. It was hilarious. Nothing like a little flashback to being young again.
I have read all the books and I too was excited to see the movie...prior to the movie I was a Team Edward gal but I must say...Team Jacob is hard to resist. I (and my daughter) can't wait for the Eclipse!
Love it!! : )
